By: Richard L. Smith

Residents in the Newark and North Jersey region are waking up to a chilly start to the week, with temperatures prompting the need for jackets, especially for those heading out early.

The National Weather Service has provided a forecast for today, which indicates partly sunny conditions with a high temperature near 62 degrees. A northwest wind is expected to blow at 6 to 8 mph.

According to NWS models, humidity levels are at 77%, and the wind speed will be around nine mph, coming from the west. The barometer reading is at 29.61 inches.

While the day is currently looking dry, it's essential to note that there is some precipitation in certain areas, according to the National Weather Service's radar data.

However, it's not expected to be a complete washout, providing some relief to those concerned about the weather.
