Chilly Morning in North Jersey to Give Way to Sunny Afternoon

Newark

By: Richard L. Smith

Residents in the Newark and North Jersey region are experiencing a brisk start to the day. Temperatures were 46 degrees early this morning.FitnessHowever, the National Weather Service assures that temperatures will rise, promising a pleasant day.

While Newark awakens to chilly air, areas in Northern NJ, particularly Sussex County, are under freeze warnings due to even colder conditions.

Despite the frosty start, the day will see a significant warm-up, with sunny skies and a high near 64 degrees. A light south wind will pick up this morning, reaching speeds of 9 to 14 mph.

By tonight, NWS forecasters say the weather will shift slightly, with a 20 percent chance of showers after 2 a.m. and increasing clouds.

The low will hover around 48 degrees with a continuous south wind of 7 to 10 mph.

Residents might need a jacket for the morning hours but can expect to enjoy a warmer afternoon as the sun makes its presence felt across the region.
