An investigation is underway into the death of a person found at a residence in the city's Ironbound Section.
A routine call for medical assistance that was called in shortly before 1:15 a.m. sent first responders to the 30's block of Somme Street where they found the victim reportedly suffering serious injury from a stab wound to the neck.
Several attempts to revive the victim failed. The identity of the victim has not been released at tis time.
The Essex County Prosecutor's Office are investigating the fatality.
